Copper Care Guide

Copper is a living material. Its surface can slowly change with air, touch, moisture, light, and time. This natural change is part of the warmth and character of copper.

Copperwood products may include natural copper, aged copper, hammered copper, or verdigris finishes. Each finish should be handled with care to preserve the intended look.

General Care

·         Dust gently with a soft dry cloth.

·         Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, bleach, ammonia, or strong acids.

·         Avoid leaving water sitting on the surface.

·         Handle with clean dry hands when possible.

·         For lighting, turn power off before cleaning and avoid wet cleaning near electrical components.

Natural Copper

Natural copper may deepen or darken over time. If you prefer a brighter look, use only a copper-safe cleaner and test carefully in a hidden area first.

Aged or Patina Finishes

Aged copper and patina finishes are intentionally finished surfaces. Avoid polishing aggressively because it can remove the finish.

Verdigris Copper

Verdigris finishes should be treated as decorative aged finishes. Clean gently with a dry cloth only. Avoid water, oil, polish, or chemical cleaners unless we provide specific instructions for your product.

Lighting Installation Note

Copper pendant lights should be installed by a qualified electrician according to local electrical requirements. Contact us before ordering if you need specific wiring, voltage, canopy, or installation details.
